Charlie McNeil


Charlie possesses broad experience in the coal, oil and gas, power and mining industries. He is Founder, Chairman and CEO of

NexGen Resources Corporation, a natural resource company which manages procurement and handling of over 9 million tons of coal per year, mine development and operations, coal-based alternative fuel and clean coal technology commercialization, and oil and gas resource development. Previously nominated by the Secretary of Energy to the National Coal Council, Charlie is a former director of the National Coal Association and the Colorado Mining Association. He is currently a member of the American Coal Council, Tau Beta Pi Engineering Society, Council of Energy Advisors, Society of Mining Engineers of AIME, and the National Coal Transportation Association. Charlie received his B.S. in Mining Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines in 1971.

Greg Marken


Interim President, Chief Executive Officer and Treasurer of Advanced Emissions Solutions, Inc. (“ADES”) since July 2020.

Prior to his appointment as Interim President and Chief Executive Officer, Greg served as Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer and Secretary of ADES from March 2018 through June 2020. In addition, he previously served as Chief Accounting Officer and held various other roles with ADES. Greg has over 15 years of experience related to accounting, finance and leadership of various teams. Prior to joining ADES, Greg was a Senior Manager in the assurance practice at Ernst & Young, LLP in both Dallas and Denver, where he served at a variety of public and private clients. Greg received his B.S. in Accounting and M.S. in Finance from Texas A&M University. Greg is a licensed CPA in Texas and Colorado and is a member of the AICPA and the Colorado Society of CPAs.

A 25-year veteran of Republic Financial Corporation, Randy was appointed CEO in 2008 and has been instrumental in developing

and building the company’s divisions and portfolio companies. He began his career as a Certified Public Accountant working for Coopers and Lybrand. Randy holds a B.S. degree in Accounting from Wittenberg University.

Rick Dowd


Rick has been Tinuum’s CEO since February 2020.  Previously, Rick was CFO of Tinuum since January 2015 and served as a member of Tinuum’s Executive Committee.

Prior to joining Tinuum, Rick served as CFO of private and public companies in the financial services, utility, telecom, and manufacturing industries, including acting as CFO of Cadre Services, a proppant mining company for the oil and gas industry. He also spent 10 years with Denham Capital Management LP, a private equity firm that invests in power, energy and mining. Rick has a B.S. degree in Industrial Distribution from Clarkson University and an M.B.A from the Sloan School at MIT.

Ted Sanders


General Counsel of Advanced Emissions Solutions, Inc. (“ADES”). Since joining ADES in 2012, Ted has served in various roles and

as General Counsel is now responsible for all legal matters for ADES.
Prior to joining ADA-ES, Ted was in private practice focusing on corporate and litigation matters. In law school, Ted was an extern for the chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, assisting with the judge’s patent litigation docket, and worked for a patent firm in Southern California. Prior to law school, Ted was an R&D engineer for the Ford Motor Company and the Hyundai-Kia America Technical Center, focusing on noise and vibration mitigation.
Ted earned his JD with a concentration in intellectual property from the University of San Diego School of Law, where he was a comments editor for the San Diego Law Review and a member of the national appellate moot court team. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree from Case Western Reserve University.

He has over 20 years of experience investing across the capital structure in a variety of industries, including energy, financial institutions, chemicals and other basic industries. Currently a Director on the Boards of several public and private companies in the energy, insurance, health & wellness, and customer loyalty industries, he’s also a Trustee of Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio. Spencer earned a B.A. from Wesleyan University and an M.B.A. with Honors in Finance from Columbia University.
